Energy and Natural Resources lawyer, Shakwa Nyambe, and the Managing Director of the law firm Shakwa Nyambe & Co Inc has been appointed to serve on the Board of Directors of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN) for the period 2020-2021. Nyambe will also serve as the Regional Director for the AIPN’s African Chapter to coordinate activities in Africa. Nyambe will establish an African Regional Executive Committee, which will meet regularly to manage chapter events
The AIPN is an independent not-for-profit professional membership association that supports international energy negotiators around the World. AIPN enhances effectiveness and professionalism in the international energy community by providing professional quality service and value to members, to enhance their career growth and development. It offers educational programs, workshops, and conferences on commercial and legal topics featuring seasoned speakers who offer insight into emerging trends and issues impacting the industry at large. Its headquarters are in Houston, Texas, USA. The AIPN produces model contracts that are widely accepted and used in the international energy industry.
In addition to a Bachelor of Laws degree, Nyambe holds a postgraduate degree of Master of Laws in Oil & Gas Law with Professional Skills (LLM) from the University of Aberdeen in the United Kingdom and a Postgraduate Diploma in Drafting and Interpretation of Contracts from the University of Johannesburg.
