SNC Incorporated has been shortlisted for the Big Five Awards 2026, hosted by Frontier Energy Network in the category Africa Legal Excellence Award – Championing Legal Excellence.
The Big Five Awards is one of Africa’s leading energy industry’s longest-running award platforms and this year marks its 30th anniversary. The awards ceremony will take place on 14 May 2026 in London, United Kingdom, as part of the Africa Energies Summit, where industry leaders, investors, governments and policymakers from across the world will gather to discuss the future of Africa’s energy sector.
The Africa Legal Excellence Award – Championing Legal Excellence recognises a law firm that has provided exceptional support and leadership in advancing Africa’s energy landscape while also contributing to sustainable community growth.
SNC Incorporated’s shortlisting reflects the firm’s growing reputation in Namibia and across the African energy sector, particularly in advising on complex upstream oil and gas transactions. The firm was also recently recognised as the Law Firm of the Year – Namibia 2026 at the IFLR Africa Awards, with recognition for enabling complex upstream transactions.
Over the past few years, SNC Incorporated has advised both international and local clients on cross border energy, corporate and commercial matters linked to Namibia’s emergence as one of the world’s most important new oil and gas jurisdictions.
Among the firm’s notable transactions, SNC Incorporated advised BP on the acquisition of a 60% interest in three offshore petroleum exploration licences in Namibia, a transaction regarded as one of the significant developments in the country’s upstream sector.
The Big Five Awards described this year’s nominees as a reflection of the “strength, resilience and ambition” shaping Africa’s upstream energy industry and the opportunities being created across the continent.
Commenting on the shortlisting, Shakwa Nyambe, Managing Partner of SNC Incorporated, said:
“We are honoured to be shortlisted for the Africa Legal Excellence Award at the Frontier Energy Big Five Awards 2026. We are grateful to our clients, partners and stakeholders for their continued trust and support.”
The shortlisting further strengthens SNC Incorporated’s position as one of Namibia’s leading law firms in the energy and natural resources sector and highlights the increasing role of Namibian legal expertise in supporting major African energy projects and investments. Winners will be announced on 14 May 2026 in London, United Kingdom.
